Atomic Era 1950’s RCA AM Antique Radio Gift

For this ongoing Fall 2024 Fund Drive, we are proudly featuring two rare antique radios, kindly provided and restored by the California Historical Radio Society (CHRS). These lovely finds are available as gifts for matching donations in support of KPFA’s fundraising efforts for a limited time only!

This beautiful electronically restored RCA AM radio came from the Atomic Era in 1950’s when radio was king – it brought news & entertainment into every room of homes across the world. This renewed radio is Bluetooth enabled so you can enjoy any kind programming. And, of course, its distinctive charm would be a conversation started for any radio fan out there. This unique find is from the ‘Wireless Discovery Center’ museum collection of the California Historical Radio Society in Alameda. Learn more about CHRS, a non-profit organization dedicated to promote the research, restoration, preservation, publication and presentation of early radio and broadcasting technology.
