Thank you for supporting KPFA on our 73rd Birthday!
Enjoy this historic recording of Paul Robeson interviewed by KPFA program director Elsa Knight Thompson & Harold Winkler (president of the Pacifica Foundation), on his life and work from 1958. Robeson speaks candidly with them about his life and work, growing up in Princeton, New Jersey as a minister’s son, his time on the stage in London in the 1920s and his understanding of the connection between the struggle for the liberation of his own people and the common struggle of all people as a human struggle. Robeson makes a special point to thank KPFA for always welcoming him onto the airwaves over the years.
