Tom Hayden 1939 ~ 2016

Tom Hayden was the author of the 1962 Port Huron Statement a manifesto for the founding of Students for a Democratic Society. He was a defendant in the Chicago Eight trial after the tumultuous 1968 Democratic National Convention and married Jane Fonda, He went on to become a California state legislator. Hayden died on Sunday in Santa Monica, Calif. He was 76. Hayen was a frequent guest on KPFA and featured many times as a speaker in  KPFA events.
