We soundly surpassed our emergency goal bringing in upwards of $25,000.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to KPFA’s emergency plea to help us repair our main antenna. As many individuals are being squeezed out by the economic boom in the Bay Area, so too is KPFA having to face the challenge of surviving in place as the cost of doing business gets increasingly higher. Unlike many nonprofits, KPFA can make a plea of help directly to our listeners when needed. We are grateful for our loyal base of supporters who share our vision of the importance of maintaining an independent source of information in broadcasting.
KPFA is working to stay ahead of the curve, to continue to question and hold accountable those in power and to bring enlightening voices to you in your car, in your home and on your high-tech devices. It’s a rapidly changing world. As our birthday approaches KPFA strives to stay on top of it all, but we always need your help or we are lost.
Thank you for the vote of confidence in keeping KPFA on track to stay within it’s 2016 budget and to make the necessary repairs to our main antenna. If all goes as scheduled our signal should be back at full reach by the end of the week.
