Continuing KPFA's tradition of celebrating Black History Month, we are proud to present our annual 12-hour block dedicated to honoring Black culture.

Tune in, Saturday, Feb 1st starting at 6am all the way 6pm!

Carry the light will feature a full day of Illuminating, uplifting, and inspiring programs.

You'll hear a conversation with Nikki Giovanni-poet, feminist and activist.

A documentary about the life and times of Ida b. Wells who led the fight against lynching in the early 20th century.

A tribute to Quincy Jones - one the versatile and accomplished artist of music the world has ever known.

A talk about the meaning of Black Power and an end to fear from Stokely Carmichael ( later known as Kwame Ture) - at UC Berkeley in 1966. and so much more.
