A decade ago. Berkeley made history as the first U.S. city to take on big soda and pass a sugary drinks tax,
Now, it’s crucial to protect this progress.
On Tuesday, October 1st, the Rialto Cinemas Elmwood screens the film “Between the Sun and the Sidewalk,” a powerful documentary on one community’s fight against big soda.
You can join community educators, and others to celebrate and raise awareness about the tax extension on this year’s ballot.
Afterward, there’s a reception at Vintage Berkeley, which includes potables and a Farm Fresh Choice food buffet. This is a great opportunity to network with local folks passionate about health equity.
The Elmwood Theater is located at 2966 College Avenue in Berkeley.
