The 40th Annual Health Fair

For over 97 years, the Allen Temple Baptist Church has served as a beacon light and an advocate for holistic care for persons of all ages, not just for the Deep East Oakland area residents, but also the Bay Area at large.
On Saturday, August 12, from 10:00am to 3:00pm, the Health Education Ministry of Allen Temple Baptist Church will hold their 40th Annual Holistic Health Fair. The 2017 fair theme is the same as that of the church’s mandate for the year, “Building Beloved Community,” and will offer a wealth of free services and activities for persons of all ages, including health screenings from the Kaiser Health Mobile Unit and other healthcare
providers (blood pressure, mammograms, cholesterol, dental, diabetes, vision, hearing, hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, podiatry/foot), and physicals for back-to-school and sports activities. Participants will be able to enjoy seminars with valuable information on health and legal matters, as well as a job fair, a blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross, a children’s area, horseback rides, games for youth, free food, clothes, haircuts, backpacks, raffles, and music. Allen Temple’s campus is accessible for persons with disabilities.
