Members of Congress are working at fever pitch, or at least debating that way, as the threat of a federal government shutdown looms just days away. While Senate Democrats and Republicans have offered a stop-gap bill to keep the government open until November 17th, House Republicans are continuing to work on a series of longer-term budget bills, along with more than 440 amendments. House Democrats are criticizing the House actions as a reckless partisan ideological joyride.
