The United Nations Security Council today adopted a watered down resolution aimed at getting more humanitarian aid into Gaza. The vote came after days of delay while negotiations took place on the language of the resolution. The U.S. successfully blocked wording that would have called for a ceasefire or a suspension of hostilities. The United Nations Secretary General warned that even if more food, water and medicine enter Gaza, aid workers won’t be able to effectively distribute the supplies as long as Israel continues its bombardment.
