Voices of the Middle East and North Africa

Voices of the Middle East and North Africa – June 1, 2005

Join Malihe and Khalil for this week’s program, during which we will hear the first part of a groundbreaking debate on the influence of the Zionist lobby on America’s policy in Israel-Palestine between the two contrasting points of view of Jeff Blankfort, a journalist and long time activist, and Professor Stephen Zunes. Stephen Zunes is a professor of politics and chair of the Peace and Justice Studies program at the University of San Francisco. He is also the author of Tinderbox: US Middle East Policy and the Roots of Terrorism. Following that, we’ll have an interview with Roya Hakakian, the author of “Journey from the Land of No: A Girlhood Caught in Revolutionary Iran,” who talks with us about her life as an Iranian Jew in pre and post-revolutionary Iran. For more information about the author, please visit www.royahakakian.com
