The presentation by Davidson was compelling but there are a few things that bother me. For one thing, his message about solar activity being the main driver of climate and that cooling is what is predicted with this model has limited support of the scientific community. Climate modeling and prediction is very complicated. Davidson is not a cosmologist or a trained scientist. Usually I give credence to a conspiracy theory by motive like following the money. What motive would there be for a consensus of scientists to fabricate global warming theory? On the other side, we know what motive there is for allowing industrial activity to continue carte blanche. One other thing that bothered me with this interview is that there was no question asking about the continued burning of fossil fuels, such as, “Do you mean to say that the burning all the remaining fossil fuel reserves will have no impact on global warming/climate change?” The conclusion by Davidson that of all the variables that affect climate, solar activity is the primary one and that it is causing the opposite effect, cooling. There are many other variables to consider before jumping on board a radical view that is consistent coincidentally with the Koch Brother’s mantra.
