A year after Donald Trump won the presidency are we at the nascent stages of a progressive electoral backlash? On our show today we’ll turn to Laurel Wales of the group People’s Action about what the wave of progressive wins last Tuesday at the local and state levels means. Then, Medea Benjamin joins us to explain just what is happening in Saudi Arabia right now with a rounding up of hundreds of officials on charges of corruption, and a threat of war with Lebanon. Finally, Harvard Professor Danielle Allen will share with us a personal and heartbreaking story of her cousin who was caught in the criminal justice system and what his experience teaches about mass incarceration and the war on drugs. She has just written a new book about it called Cuz: The Life and Times of Michael A.
