Scott Pruitt the head of the Environmental Protection Agency just issued a bizarre set of new rules barring federally funded scientists from serving on advisory boards saying they could not be objective. On today’s show we’ll speak with Genna Reed from the Union of Concerned Scientists about the rule and how Pruitt seems to have turned the idea of “conflict of interest” on its head in order to serve business interests. Then, we’ll examine how another Trump appointee is destroying his agency – Ryan Zinke’s recent decision to raise national park fees and shrink the size of national monuments. My guest Ben Schreider of Friends of the Earth will explain more. Finally Harper Jean Tobin of the National Center for Transgender Equality will join us to comment on a recent federal judge’s decision to block Donald Trump’s ban on transgender troops in the military.
