Two Stories Illustrating That Black Lives Still Don’t Matter Enough in the US

The recent killing of a black man in New York by a white supremacist, along with the story of missing black children in DC, are two reports illustrating that Black Lives still don’t Matter in the US. On today’s show we’ll turn to Melina Abdullah, a BLM activist and professor of Pan African Studies about it. And, an artist who made a name for himself during the George W. Bush administration, has found plenty to paint about in the age of Donald Trump. Mark Bryan will join us to discuss his powerful and surreal works of political art. Plus, Ellen Condliffe Lagemann, the former Dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education joins us to discuss her new book Liberating Minds: The Case for College in Prison.

Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar.
