One response to “Sunday Show – January 1, 2017

  1. What an extraordinary panel of guests to open the doors wide onto the New Year! The blinders have been blown away, and now Americans are forced to experience, if not embrace, the anguish we have inflicted on others around the world for decades.

For those who choose to crawl under a rock to hide, to flee to Canada or to retreat into their i-phone, this show reminds one of the urgency of the time: not a time of new year’s celebration nor even long term mourning, but mobilization. For words can never be enough at a time when the most strategic and creative actions are needed.

With this in mind–a deep sense of gratitude reverberates from listeners far and wide, through our air waves, to those working for KPFA– for their intellectual rigor, their emotional strength and their psychological maturity. You have sacrificed greatly to help evolve your listeners into people who might commit to the disciplined, relentless, and largely invisible, work most needed now. For hidden information opens us up to the beginning of a change of consciousness, while activism emboldens us to become those heroes we most admire, those who in the past who have sacrificed their very selves to save Humanity and our fragile planet.

This time inspires us to become the very best we can be.
