Catch phrases such as chemical weapons and weapons of mass destruction are back: 10 years after they were used to justify the invasion of Iraq. Today we talk about how such phrases have been used in the past and the history of western rhetoric towards the middle east with Deepa Kumar, Associate Professor of Media Studies and Middle Eastern Studies at Rutgers University and author of the book Islamophobia and the Politics of Empire.

Later we’re joined by Fred Branfman who in the late 1960s was the first to report to the world the US secret bombing campaign of Laos.
