Cover to Cover Open Book – August 24, 2007

On March 5th 2007, a car bomb was exploded on Mutanabbi Street in Baghdad. More than 30 people were killed and more than 100 were wounded. This locale is the historic center of Baghdad bookselling, a winding street filled with bookstores and outdoor book stall. A Coalition has been formed to remind us of the significance of this street. Today, Amelia speaks with writers and poets, Beau Beausoleil, Summer Brenner, Sinan Antoon, Deema Shehabi and Julie Brock who will be part of the reading that will be taking place at the San Francisco Public Library at 100 Larking St. For more information, go to www.mutanabbistreetreading.com.
