Theme: pop culture, hip hop.

Eileen Javar co-hosts today’s show with Jennifer Argyle on women artists and scholars in hip-hop communities who are making a difference. First, Medusa– known as the Angela Davis of hip-hop gives her views and thoughts about women in hip-hop. And next, Gwendolyn Pough, Associate Professor at Syracuse University, talks about her book, “Check it while I wreck it.” Then we bring you the women’s community calendar. And in the second half of our show, we turn to the twin cities of Minnesota, to speak first with filmmaker Rachel Raimist and then with hip-hop and spoken word artist, Desdemona about women in the local communities of Minneapolis-St.Paul.
